Breathing Air

The need for purified compressed air:

Supplied air respiratory protection is one of the most productive and reliable ways to control exposure and respiratory hazards in the workplace. Other applications of purified compressed breathing air include air for clean rooms, health care facilities, and hospital equipment such as life support systems and neonatal care. Air Technologies supplies Deltech brand breathing air systems that provide the following benefits:

  • Meet or exceed OSHA breathing air standards
  • Protect workers from ambient and compressed air respiratory hazards
  • Increase worker comfort and productivity
  • Deliver 100 percent of the purifier inlet air as clean, safe breathing air
  • Conserve valuable compressed air for other plant services
  • Avoid the expense of a dedicated compressed breathing air system

DEL-MONOX™ PURIFIERS
FOR COMPRESSED BREATHING AIR

You may already have implemented widespread use of compressed breathing air to protect your workers from respiratory hazards in the workplace.

However, providing workers with self-contained or supplied-air breathing apparatus isn't enough. You need to protect your people from dangerous contaminants produced within their compressed breathing air systems as well. Besides being safer, this kind of protection can pay off in higher productivity and lower operating costs.

DEL-MONOX™ PURIFIERS
FOR COMPRESSED BREATHING AIR
DM SERIES

DM Series Del-Monox Purifiers Serve High-Capacity Applications

Del-Monox DM Series compressed air purifiers can be usede on a continuous-duty basis in high-capacity applications. Outlet capacities range from 125 SCFM to 920 SCFM at 100 PSIG.

DM Series purifiers feature a simple design with few moving parts. Standard features include electronic automatic drain valves, a carbon monoxide monitor, a failure-to-switch alarm, tower pressure gauges, and ASME-code desiccant vessels. Color change indicators in the desiccant beds warn against possible moisture contamination of the catalyst. Unlike competitive units, in which a moisture indicator is located at the outlet of the dryer, the DM Series color change indicators provide the earliest possible warning of a potential problem.

4-Stage Purification:

Simpler in design than any other continuous duty breathing air purifier on the market, the DM Series Del-Monox purifier requires only four purification stages:

  1. A prefilter removes liquid oil and water as well as gross particulates without the need for a particulate-removing filter or water separator. Electronic drain valves automatically discharge the contaminants removed by the prefilter.
  2. A twin-tower desiccant dryer removes water vapor to protect the catalyst. A small portion of the process air (purge air) is used to regenerate the offstream tower.
  3. A catalyst/charcoal cartridge converts carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide and removes odor- and taste-causing hydrocarbon vapors.
  4. An afterfilter removes desiccant dust and other fine particles.

DELTECH CARBON MONOXIDE MONITOR
FOR COMPRESSED BREATHING AIR

Carbon monoxide is colorless, odorless, and tasteless; it is also the most toxic of the common contaminants in compressed air. Accordingly, if you are selecting a carbon monoxide monitor for your compressed breathing air system you want a monitor you can rely on - for both accuracy and dependability.

The Series 1000 monitor provides the most advanced means of continuous monitoring for carbon monoxide in breathing air. The monitor provides a digital LED readout of the carbon monoxide concentration and actuates both visual and audible alarms when preset levels are reached.

The Series 1000 carbon monoxide monitor is housed in a NEMA fiberglass enclosure. It can be easily mounted to a wall or a component in the compressed air system. The monitor is designed for continuous operation; it requires minimal attention to assure safe and accurate operation.

Standard features include:

  • A digital display that continuously indicates the level of carbon monoxide detected
  • High and low alarm setpoints
  • Visual alarms
  • A 90db alarm horn with silence switch
  • Remote contacts
  • A NEMA 4-rated enclosure
  • 0-200 ppm carbon monoxide range
  • a push-to-test button to verify the audible and visual alarms
