Air Technologies® is a proud distributor of the Motivair line of products, including Oil Coolers/Aftercoolers for Air Compressors, and Compressed Air Filters High-Performance Air-Cooled Oil Coolers/Aftercoolers for Rotary Screw Air Compressors
Low Noise Combo-Coolers: These coolers are designed to provide exceptionally low noise level, combined with high cooling capacity for air-cooled rotary screw air compressors. They provide close approach temperatures and low pressure drop for both oil and compressed air. Combo-Coolers are ideal for converting water cooled screw compressors to air-cooled. They are particularly well suited to installations where the cooling package is remotely situated and noise must be kept to a minimum. Vacuum-brazed aluminum core provides a compact and heat-efficient exchange matrix. Multiple, low speed fans are extremely quiet in operation. Fans are direct-drive and separately compartmentalized for effective fan cycling via electronic controls. This feature provides stable temperatures, prevents freeze-up, & saves energy during low ambient operation. Heavy-duty, weatherproof construction includes a steel channel frame, removable access panels, fan guard, and TEFC motors. Vents, drains, & temperature/pressure bosses are standard. NEMA 4 control panel includes individual fan motor protection and contactors, plus electronic fan-cycling controls. Standard controls provide interlocked operation with the air compressor. Lockable, fused NEMA 3R disconnect & sealtite wiring are included. Compressed Air Filters The need for filtration: Compressed air has many benefits in terms of economy, safety, flexibility, and versatility. Its use continues to grow for precision automation systems in all kinds of industries such as chemicals, biochemicals, biomedicals, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and food processing, and in all of these applications a very high standard of cleanliness of the air is essential. In an industrial environment, the atmosphere can contain as many as 4 million particles of contaminants in every cubic foot. Around 80% of these are below 2 microns in size and are therefore too fine to be trapped by the air compressor intake filters. Compressing the air to a pressure of 100 PSIG increases the concentration of contaminants by a factor of 8, i.e. more than 32 million particles per cubic foot. To this must also be added:
This concentration of contaminants can cause serious and expensive problems such as:
Advanced Filter Technology: The filter body is all aluminum, with a threaded connection between the head and bowl. External ribs on the bowl facilitate screwing and unscrewing of the body. Design working pressure is 230 PSIG. The optional pressure differential gauge is installed on the top of the filter and can be turned through 180 degrees if required. The pressure differential scale is colored in 3 zones to facilitate interpretation of reading; when the pointer reaches the red zone the element is due for renewal. For ease of installation, the filters can also be supplied with mounting brackets that utilize the <package> assembly tie-rod holes for fixing. When more than one filter is to be installed in series, up to three can be fitted together in a single assembly with a simple tie-bar and gasket arrangement. Filter element installation is simplified by the use of a tie rod that screws into the bottom retaining disc. The resulting assembly is both strong and compact, able to withstand considerable fluctuations in temperature and pressure.
