SurvAIR® allows you to measure the performance of your compressed air system and helps take the guesswork out of lowering your compressed air costs.
Are you maximizing your air utility performance?
Supply Side:
It is extremely important to measure the performance of your compressors, air dryers, and filters to determine how
efficient your compressed air production equipment is. We recommend that the following be performed:
Compressor performance (flow rate, pressure, discharge temperature, and kW). We can connect each of your compressors to our portable performance test stand to measure and log the flow (CFM), pressure and kW from to full flow. From this data we will construct a performance graph which will provide the following benefits:
You will know which units are best to base load, which units should be used as trim, and which units should be replaced.
You will find out if the compressor's controls are working properly.
We can spot component problems that require attention.
Air Dryer performance (dew point, pressure drop). Our instrumentation can measure the dew point from each of your air dryers along with inlet and discharge temperatures and pressure drop to determine if your dryers are working properly.
Filter performance (pressure drop). Measuring the pressure drop of each air filter will let you know whether a filter
needs to be changed and whether your current pressure drop indicators are working properly. Every 2 psi of pressure drop wastes 1% of the total energy cost to generate the compressed air.
Total system performance. We can install one or multiple flow meters in your air piping to measure and log your total
plant compressed air consumption along with system dew point, pressure and kWh. This information will help you to determine the following:
How much air does the plant use?
How does it vary during the day/week
How efficient is my total compressed air generating system?
Exactly what are the potential energy savings if new equipment and / or controls are installed?
How should your compressors be sequenced throughout the day / week?
Demand Side:
Process flow rates we can install flow meters in your plant to measure the air requirements of a specific production line or piece of equipment. This information can be extremely useful if you are planning on adding a similar line or piece of equipment so that you know exactly how much additional air will be required.
Distribution system performance. We can measure the air pressure at various points in your distribution system (from the compressor room to the point of use and all points in between) to pinpoint pressure drop problems. Solving these problems will improve productivity and may allow you to lower your system air pressure substantially, thus lowering your energy costs. Once again, every two (2) psi of compressor pressure reduction saves 1% in energy.
